Dave Gasperson, 404-997-4417 NRC Names New Resident Inspector at Sequoyah Nuclear Power Plant Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Atlanta have selected Alex Price as the agencys new resident inspector at the Sequoyah nuclear power plant, located near Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee. He joins NRC Senior Resident Inspector David Hardage at the two-unit site, operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Price joined the NRC in 2021 as a project engineer in the Resident Inspector Development Program in the NRCs Region IV office in Arlington, Texas. He holds a bachelors degree in engineering physics from Point Loma Nazarene University and a masters degree in physics from Baylor University.

Before joining the NRC, he worked as a U.S. Air Force electronics engineer and served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear submarine officer aboard the USS Alabama.

Alexs education, training, and experience from the Navys nuclear power program and his grasp of regulatory requirements make him an excellent choice to serve alongside David Hardage at the Sequoyah plant, said NRC Region II Administrator Laura Dudes. He brings the competence, commitment, and character required of our inspectors to ensure Sequoyah continues to operate safely and by NRC regulations.

The NRC assigns at least two resident inspectors to each operating U.S. commercial nuclear power plant. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting regular inspections, monitoring plant operations, major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public.
