Dear Ms. Ferkile:
Enclosed is an application (XCOM1352), dated August 3, 2022, received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), from Materion Brush Inc., for the export of beryllium components that will be used in the SCK CEN BR2 research reactor for research purposes and for the production of medical isotopes. These minor reactor components are authorized under paragraph 11 of Appendix A to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 110.
I understand that the Executive Branch has accepted the generic assurances provided for similar exports of components to Belgium. The NRC intends to issue this license after the 30-day review period on the basis of these generic assurances.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact licensing officers Gary Langlie at Gary.Langlie@nrc.gov and Joanne Savoy at Joanne.Savoy@nrc.gov.
Sincerely, 8/4/2022 X Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst Signed by: Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst, Chief Export Controls and Nonproliferation Branch Office of International Programs cc w/enclosures:
