& Nonproliferation U.S. Department of State 2201 C Street, NW Washington, D.C. 20520
Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is an application received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) dated July 22, 2022, from Halliburton Energy Services, for a specific license (PXB242.00) to export Category 2 quantities of Americium-241, Americium-241/Beryllium, and Cesium-137 for oil logging and perforating services in India.
Since India is on the restricted destinations list (10 CFR Part 110.29), before taking action on this new request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
If you have any questions, please contact Joanne Savoy (Joanne.Savoy@nrc.gov), the Licensing Officer who reviewed this case.
Sincerely, 7/27/2022 X Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst Signed by: Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst, Chief Export Controls and Nonproliferation Branch Office of International Programs
