Viktoria Mitlyng, 630-829-9662 Prema Chandrathil, 630-829-9663 NRC Names New Resident Inspector at Clinton Nuclear Power Plant The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Arsalan Muneeruddin as the new resident inspector at the Clinton nuclear power plant. He joins NRC senior resident inspector Jim Beavers at the Clinton facility.

Muneeruddin started his NRC career in 2021 as a reactor engineer in the Region III office located in Lisle, Illinois. Most recently, he was the acting resident inspector at the Clinton nuclear power plant.

Prior to joining the agency, he worked for the U.S. Navy for five years as a nuclear engineer, focusing on radiological safety aspects at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and later at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.

Muneeruddin holds a bachelors degree in nuclear, plasma, and radiological engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Each commercial nuclear power plant site in the United States has at least two resident inspectors who monitor day-to-day operations at the plant. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public.

The plant is located in Clinton, Illinois, approximately 23 miles southeast of Bloomington, and is operated by Constellation Energy Co., LLC.
