SUBJECT:

LETTER NOMINATING NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STAFF TO THE POWER SYSTEM RELAYING AND CONTROL COMMITTEE, FOR INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS

Dear Dr. Yalla,

I would like to nominate Mr. Jorge Cintron and Ms. Liliana Ramadan as the authorized U.S.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) representative and alternate representative, respectively, on the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Power System Relaying and Control Committee (PSRC). Mr. Cintron and Ms. Ramadan are Electrical Engineers in the NRC Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. They are responsible for NRC licensing activities in the electrical discipline and are knowledgeable about power system protection and control. Mr. Cintron and Ms. Ramadan are replacing Mr. Roy Mathew and Mr.

Darrell Murdock.

In accordance with the Office of Management and Budget Circular No. A-119, "Federal Participation in the Development and Use of Voluntary Consensus Standards and in Conformity Assessment Activities," dated January 27, 2016, the participation on a committee of an NRC-authorized representative does not connote agency agreement with, or endorsement of, decisions reached by the committee, or of standards approved and published as a result of the committees efforts. Agency representatives participating on consensus standards developing groups will, to the extent possible, ascertain the views of the agency on matters of interest and will express views that are consistent with established agency views.

However, the NRCs endorsement of these standards, if desired by the NRC, would be part of a separate activity such as incorporation by reference into rulemaking or endorsement in the NRC regulatory guide.

Correspondence should be addressed to:

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Mr. Jorge Cintron M/S: O9G03 Washington, D.C. 20555 Telephone: 301-415-1210 E-mail: Jorge.Cintron@nrc.gov U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Ms. Liliana Ramadan M/S: O8F04 Washington, D.C. 20555 Telephone: 301-415-2463 E-mail: Liliana.Ramadan@nrc.gov

Thank you very much for providing the NRC with the opportunity to participate in the work of your committee.

Sincerely,

/RA/

Louise Lund, NRC Standards Executive Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research cc:
