OF THE MARCH 29, 2022, CLOSED MEETING BETWEEN X ENERGY, LLC AND THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION REGARDING X ENERGY, LLCS XE-100 OPERATOR TRAINING/COLD LICENSING APPROACH On March 29, 2022, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed meeting with representatives from X Energy, LLC (X-energy) regarding its Cold Licensing Approach for the Xe-100 reactor design. The public meeting notice and agenda are available in the Agencywide Documents and Management System (ADAMS) under Accession No. ML22082A137. X-energys presentation slides are publicly available and are available in ADAMS (ML22130A249). The Enclosure provides the list of meeting attendees.
The purpose of the meeting was for the NRC staff and X-energy representatives to discuss X-energys approach for the Xe-100 operator training and cold licensing approach. After opening remarks by the NRC staff and X-energy representatives, X-energy began the topic discussion by providing a brief Xe-100 reactor design technology overview. The Xe-100 reactor standard design comprised of four reactor units that are controlled from a single control room with three operators. X-energy addressed the Control Room Staffing approach in a separate topical report that was submitted to the NRC on January 4, 2022 (ML22004A333).
In accordance with Management Directive 3.5, Attendance at NRC Staff-Sponsored Meetings (ML21180A271), the meeting was closed because the discussion involved proprietary details related to the X-energy licensing strategy.
