Hobbs, NM 88240
SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR LIBRARY TO MAINTAIN COPY OF A FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR HOLTEC INTERNATIONALS CONSOLIDATED INTERIM STORAGE FACILITY LOCATED IN LEA COUNTY, NEW MEXICO (DOCKET NUMBER: 72-1051)
Dear Sandy L. Farrell:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received a license application from Holtec International (Holtec) to construct and operate a consolidated interim storage facility for spent nuclear fuel in Lea County, New Mexico. The NRC has recently issued the final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the proposed project. We are requesting that the Hobbs Public Library add this to the information previously sent for public review.
This letter transmits a hard copy of the NRCs FEIS for Holtecs Consolidated Interim Storage Facility. An electronic version of this document and the entire application are available in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS), accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/readingrm/adams.html. The FEIS is located in ADAMS ML22181B094. In addition, application materials may be accessed at the NRC webpage:
https://www.nrc.gov/waste/spent-fuel-storage/cis/holtec-international.html.
We are kindly requesting that copies of all documents on file be kept at the library for a period of three (3) years, if possible, for the publics use. Thank you for your assistance in establishing an information repository and maintaining reference documents at the library.
