July 7, 2022 Mr. Robert Gambone Senior Vice President, Teaching and Learning Institute of Nuclear Power Operations 700 Galleria Parkway, S.E., Suite 100 Atlanta, GA 30339-5943
Dear Mr. Gambone:
The Report on the Effectiveness of Training at Operating Power Reactors for Calendar Years 2018 - 2021 is enclosed. The NRC observed the National Nuclear Accrediting Board (NNAB) and evaluated issues related to training weaknesses during calendar years 2018 - 2021.
The report concludes that accredited training programs at operating power reactors continued to meet the systems approach to training requirements contained in 10 CFR Parts 50 and 55.
Licensees and the NNAB are generally identifying and correcting training issues at a level that supports safe plant operation. If you have questions on any of the topics discussed in this report, please contact me at (301) 415-1004 or Ms. Lauren Nist, Chief, Operator Licensing and Human Factors Branch, at (301) 415-6043.
Sincerely, Signed by Miller, Christopher on 07/07/22 Christopher G. Miller, Director Division of Reactor Oversight Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation
