SUMMARY
2020-02 AND REGULATORY ENGAGEMENT PLAN
Dear Mr. Volkoff:
The purpose of this letter is to provide the written feedback requested in your letter submitting the Carbon Free Power Project (CFPP) Combined License Application (COLA) regulatory engagement plan.1 The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted an observation public meeting on May 19, 2022, to discuss and provide feedback on the regulatory engagement plan.2 The meeting was conducted in two parts. First, the open session of the meeting focused on an overview of the regulatory engagement plan and specific topics for future engagements and provided an opportunity for members of the public to observe the NRC staff's interactions with the prospective applicant and to comment near the end of the session.
Second, the closed session of the meeting provided the NRC staff and the prospective applicant an opportunity to discuss proprietary information related to the open session presentation.
The NRC staff issued a meeting summary that includes a list of in-person and remote participants and the proprietary discussion during the closed session of the meeting.3,4 At the end of the closed session of the meeting, topics for future engagement were identified.
