In our December 23, 2021 letter (EPID L-2021-LLA-0239), we requested a license amendment to require redundant fuel element latch checks. In that letter, we attached a description referencing two procedures, a draft of 01 6.1. 7, Rotational Latch Checks, and MP 5.39, Visual Check of Fuel Element Latch Bar. This is to notify you that, as part of our procedure updates, MP 5.39 has been replaced by 01 6.1.8, Visual Check of Fuel Element Latch Bar, and an additional analysis procedure, 01 6.1.9, Visual Inspection Analysis.
All of the latch check procedures, 01 6.1.7, 01 6.1.8, and 01 6.1.9 have been updated and implemented and are available for NRC inspection.
