Home Technical Sessions â T5 T5 Technology-Inclusive, Risk-Informed, and Performance-Based Regulatory Framework (10 CFR Part 53)âDiverse Pathways to the Future This session will explore the development of a new regulatory framework for new reactors. In support of our effort to be a modern, risk-informed regulator, the NRC is revising agency regulations to provide flexibility for a variety of novel licensing approaches. This effort relies on extensive stakeholder engagement to develop a framework that will enable innovation while ensuring that the NRC fulfills its important safety and security mission. This session will explore how Part 53 is addressing diverse points of view on licensing new and advanced reactors.
