HomeBio - Cynthia Barr Cynthia Barr Ms. Barr has been at the NRC for the past 20 years. She currently serves as a senior risk analyst focused on reviews of decommissioning plans and final status surveys for complex decommissioning sites including the West Valley Demonstration Project, as well as reviews of performance assessments for low-level waste disposal and HLW tank closures at DOE facilities at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) and Savannah River Site (SRS). Ms. Barr also works on low-level waste and decommissioning guidance, including work on the Multi-Agency Radiation Survey and Site Investigation Manual (or MARSSIM) and Volume 2 of NRC's Consolidated Decommissioning Guidance, NUREG-1757. With regard to interntional activities, Ms. Barr serves as the chair of NEAâ's Working Party on the Technical, Environmental, and Safety Aspects of Decommissioning and Legacy Management and works on the IAEA's Human Inrusion in the Context of Radioactive Waste Disposal (HIDRA) project. Ms. Barr also conducts international training on dose and environmental modeling. Ms. Barr previously worked for Bechtel Savannah River Site as a Senior Engineer performing groundwater modeling and risk assessment for decommissioning. Ms. Barr holds a Bachelorâ's Degree in Mathematics and a Masterâ's Degree in Environmental Engineering from Clemson University in the nuclear/radiological focus area
