RE: CCPM, RESPONSE TO REVIEW OF SPECIALTY BOARD CONTINUED RECOGNITION BY THE US NRC
Dear Khadija,
Thank you for your prompt response to our letter.
- 1) In the CCPM response letter, you provided four distinct sub-specialties: Diagnostic Radiological Physics, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine Physics, and Radiation Oncology Physics. Can you confirm that Radiation Oncology Physics is the only NRC-recognized specialty area?
- 2) Can you confirm that you are the new designee for all official correspondence with the NRC moving forward? Can you provide your title so I can update our records?
- 3) On the NRC website, we maintain a Notes section. This provides guidance to NRC license reviewers. Upon reviewing your website, I noted that:
In situations where a successful MCCPM candidate in the Radiation Oncology Physics subspecialty has not been supervised by a CCPM, ABR or ABMP certified physicist as required for USNRC AMP status, the Board may issue a MCCPM certificate stamped with the words AMP Ineligible. (Page 15 of Regulations of the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine)
I believe that the following would be an appropriate note for the Notes section of our NRC website. Do you agree?
A certificate stamped with the words AMP Ineligible confirms that the candidate did not meet all the eligibility requirements.
I look forward to continuing to work with you.
