Yankee Atomic Electric Company Adoption of NAC-MPC System, Amendment 8 Certificate of Compliance and Canister Registration In Reference 1, Yankee Atomic Power Company (YAEC) notified the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that the 15 NAC-MPC canisters storing spent nuclear fuel at the Yankee Nuclear Power Station (YNPS) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) in Rowe, Massachusetts would be registered to Amendment 5 of the NAC-MPC System Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 72-1025.
In accordance with 10 CFR 72.212(b)(2) and 10 CFR 72.4, YAEC is notifying the NRC that those canisters will now be registered to Amendment 8 of the NAC-MPC System CofC No.
72-1025, including any applicable exemptions (Attachment 1). This change was effective on April 18, 2022.
The NRC previously granted Y AEC an exemption from specific provisions of Amendment 8 to the NAC-MPC System CoC No. 72-1025 in Reference 2. In addition, Revision 12 of the NAC-MPC System Final Safety Analysis Report will be the revision applicable to the YNPS ISFSI.
These adoptions are documented in Revision 16 to the YNPS ISFSI 10 CFR 72.212 Evaluation, dated April 18, 2022.

NAC-MPC Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 1025 Amendments 1 and 2 including Exemptions 2A and 28 provided the licensing basis for design, fabrication, loading, and initial storage of the NAC-MPC System at the Yankee Nuclear Power Station (YNPS) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI).
