Trade Schools and Community College Scholarship Program Executive Summary:

The project will support scholarships, and associated costs for students enrolled in Nuclear Power Technology and Instrumentation and Control Technology programs to develop a workforce capable of operating nuclear facilities and the safe handling of nuclear materials.

Bismarck State College will offer nine, scholarships each of the four semesters (total 36 scholarships) during the two-year project to students who are recruited and selected based on their financial need, academic promise and interest in pursuing careers in nuclear power technology. The Nuclear Power Technology program is offered online only while the Instrumentation and Control Technology program is offered both online and on campus. The online programs are offered nationwide via distance learning and will target eligible students in communities where nuclear power plants are located to achieve the goal of increasing the diversity of the workforce for the industry.
