The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Christopher T. Hanson, Commissioner Jeff Baran and Commissioner David Wright will receive an overview of the 2020- 2029 plan to address the impacts of uranium contamination on the Navajo Nation.

Meeting panelists representing the NRC, the Navajo Nation, the Navajo Nation Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. EPA, the U.S. DOE, the state of Utah, the Spokane Tribe of Indians, and the Red Water Pond Road Communityalso will provide perspectives on remediation activities at former uranium mill sites throughout the West, including activities at the NE Church Rock Mine and United Nuclear Corporation Mill Site activities.

The NRC will also hold a meeting to provide the Commission with a first -hand account from members of the community regarding the impacts of uranium contamination on the Navajo Nation.
