Registration of Independent Spent Fuel Installation Storage Cask and Notification of Permanent Removal of All Spent Fuel Assemblies from the Spent Fuel Pool In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 72.212, "Conditions of general license issued under §72.21 O," paragraph (b)(2), NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC (NEDA) is submitting the registration for the use of a spent fuel storage cask under the general license to store spent fuel at the Duane Arnold Energy Center ([?AEC) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation.
The in-service date of the cask is listed below. Registration of this cask is required to be submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) within 30 days of initial use.
Accordingly, this registration is due to the NRC by May 10, 2022, in accordance with 10 CFR 72.212.

- Canister" (ML21294A280), at least two (2) fuel cells in this cask remain empty.
Furthermore, this letter serves to notify the NRC that as of April 10, 2022, all spent nuclear fuel assemblies have been transferred out of the spent fuel pool and have been placed in dry storage within the ISFSI. This notification hereby established the effective date for the following:
