January 20, 2022 U.S. Department of Homeland Security FEMA Region 6 800 N. Loop 288 Denton, TX 76209 FEMA Enclosed is a copy of the radiological emergency preparedness final report for the Arkansas Nuclear One (ANO)
Medical Services Drill that was virtually evaluated on October 13, 2020 and November 18, 2021. FEMA Region 6 staff evaluated the drill at the St. Mary's Hospital and Pope County Emergency Medical Services, Main Station in Russellville, Arkansas. There were no Level 1 Findings, however there was one Level 2 Finding that was identified and corrected during the drill. No Plan Issues were identified.
Based on the results of the drill, the planning and preparedness for the State of Arkansas and affected local jurisdictions provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken to protect public health and safety in the event of a radiological release. Therefore, 44 CFR Part 3 50 approval of the off site radiological emergency response plans and preparedness for the State of Arkansas, specific to Arkansas Nuclear One, will remain in effect.
A copy of this report was mailed to the NRC Headquarters Document Control Desk and a copy was transmitted electronically to RIV FEMADistribution@NRC.gov as specified in the FEMA REP Program Manual dated January 2016.
