Dear Mr. Warden:
Enclosed is export application XB1360, dated February 18, 2022, from Humboldt Scientific, Inc.,
requesting to export moisture/density gauges to Iraq. The applicant requests to export a maximum of thirty gauges, each containing 0.0111 Terabecquerels (TBq) of cesium-137 (Cs-137) and 0.0444 TBq of americium-241 (Am-241). Total maximum quantity will not exceed 0.333TBq of Cs-137 and 1.332 TBq of Am-241.
Before taking action on this request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with Title 10 to the Code of Federal Regulations Part 110.41(a)(10), from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
