Request for an Extension of Comment Period on Draft Regulatory Guide, DG-1385, Water Sources for Long-Term Recirculation Cooling Following a Loss-of-Coolant Accident, Docket ID NRC-2022-0036 Project Number: 689
Dear Program Management,
Announcements and Editing Staff:
The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI)1, on behalf of its members, appreciates the opportunity to review and provide comments on Draft Regulatory Guide, DG-1385, Water Sources for Long-Term Recirculation Cooling Following a Loss-of-Coolant Accident.
In a Federal Register Notice (87 FR 7209) dated February 8, 2022, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission requested that stakeholder comments be submitted by March 10, 2022. NEI requests an extension of the comment period of thirty (30) days to April 9, 2022. This extension is necessary to permit adequate stakeholder engagement on this important topic and will allow members currently engaged in spring refueling outages an opportunity to review and comment.
If you have questions or require additional information, please contact me at (612) 518-2850, ras@nei.org.
Sincerely, Rick Stadtlander c:
