[External_Sender] Objections to extending Pt. Beach for 80 years This plan to extend Pt. Beach for 80 years takes no account of the rapid climate change that is here now and will get worse. Further, as a survivor of Three Mile Island, albeit with damaged thyroid and cancer that I believe resulted from that melt down accident in 1979, the guarantees of safety are imossible to assure - the likelihood of accidents, mistakes, human errors, technical glitches, and terrorist inspired damage make it impossible for anyone to claim that this move can be "safe." The heating of the lake, and related lakes is detrimental to the fish and creatures that live in such lakes, and will contribute to global warming - a very destructive action that harms the long term life of the lakes and associated weather patterns anywhere nearby. This is important because the drinking water for millions of people will be harmed. There are no safe ways to dispose of the nuclear wastes, and after nearly 100 years of research and development of the nuclear industry, there are NO safe ways to dispose of the waste. This problem has yet to be solved, and continuing to contribute waste to the already large stockpile of nuclear waste is sad and dangerous. Have you thought thoroughly about embrittlement of metal - 80 years is a long time and the radiation present will change the metal surrounding these reactors for the worse. Dangerous moves all, please stop this waste of money and resources and put some energy into solar, wind, and wave power that offers a doable, low cost and safe way to achieve improved power.

You could also investigate conserving energy rather than wasting energy - ie., we could downsize the US military which is the largest waster of energy.

Thank you - bob g "Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."
