On behalf of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), I am responding to your December 7, 2021, letter regarding the agencys draft proposed rule on nuclear power plant decommissioning.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and priorities. The proposed rule is expected to be available for public comment in March 2022, and your letter has been added to the rulemaking docket (NRC-2015-0070) as part of the official record of comments on this matter. The NRC staff will consider and respond to your comments, along with comments received during the public comment period, in developing a draft final rule for Commission approval.
