Tower Ave Alameda, CA 94501 Mr. Peebles, By letter dated June 30, 2020, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20182A785), as supplemented by letter dated August 19, 2021 (ADAMS Accession No. ML21231A289), Kairos Power, LLC (Kairos Power) submitted the topical report (TR) KP-TR-012, KPFHR Mechanistic Source Term Methodology, Revision No. 1 for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff review. The NRC staff completed its review of the information submitted in Revision No. 1 of the TR and finds the TR acceptable for referencing in license applications subject to the limitations and conditions specified in the NRC staff draft safety evaluation (SE).
The NRC staff placed a copy of the draft SE in the box.com folder to which you and Darrell Gardner have access. Please review the draft SE for proprietary information. Pursuant to Section 2.390 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), the staff determined that the draft SE contains proprietary information and have indicated with double brackets
(( )) what we believe is proprietary information. If you identify additional proprietary information in the draft SE, please mark the information line-by-line and define the basis pursuant to the criteria of 10 CFR 2.390.
