Dear Mr. Coffey:
By letter dated November 16, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML20329A292), NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC (NextEra) submitted an application for subsequent renewal of Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-24 and DPR-27 for Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 (Point Beach),
respectively, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
On September 2, 2021, (NRC, or the staff) held a public meeting with NextEra to discuss the contents of the Point Beach Subsequent License Renewal Application. The staff began with the public meeting logistics including the agenda. The staff and applicant then discussed the following documents:
the applicants response dated August 11, 2021, (ADAMS Accession No. ML21223A308) to the staffs Set 2 requests for additional information (RAIs) dated July 13, 2021, (ADAMS Accession No. ML21208A189) concerning epoxy grouted anchors;
the applicants response dated August 25, 2021, (ADAMS Accession No. ML21237A055) to the staffs Set 3 RAIs dated July 7, 2021, (ML21214A084) concerning fatigue monitoring/cycle limits;
the applicants potential response to the staffs Set 5 RAIs dated August 12, 2021, (ADAMS Accession No. ML21242A203) concerning fire protection;
the applicants potential response to the staffs Set 6 RAIs dated August 12, 2021, (ADAMS Accession No. ML21242A015) concerning selective leaching;
clarification of the staffs Set 9 RAI dated September 2, 2021, (ADAMS Accession No. ML21273A022) concerning cathodic protection of buried steel pipe.
