SUBJECT:
COMMENTS ON FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR INTERIM STORAGE PARTNERS LLCS PROPOSED CONSOLIDATED INTERIM STORAGE FACILITY FOR SPENT NUCLEAR FUEL, ANDREWS COUNTY, TEXAS
Dear Mr. Kenney:
Thank you for your letter of September 14, 2021, regarding the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Interim Storage Partners LLC (ISP) license application for a consolidated interim storage facility for spent nuclear fuel in Andrews County, Texas. While the NRCs regulations in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 51 do not provide for a public comment period on a Final EIS, the NRC staff did review your letter and determined that the issues raised were considered in the NRC review process. Additionally, the NRC has placed your letter in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML21278A544 and the letter is publicly available.
The NRC has issued a materials license to ISP for the consolidated interim storage facility.
The license and supporting documents can be found in ADAMS at Accession No. ML21188A096.
Sincerely, John R. Tappert, Director Division of Rulemaking, Environment and Financial Support Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards Docket No. 72-1050 October 14, 2021 Signed by Tappert, John on 10/14/21
