Status of Petition for Rulemaking, Advance Tribal Notification of Certain Radioactive Material Shipments, (PRM372; NRC-2021- 0051)

I am writing to provide you with an update on the petition for rulemaking (PRM) that you submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on December 4, 2020, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21042B011). On February 11, 2021, the NRC docketed your petition pursuant to § 2.803 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), "Petition for rulemaking NRC action." On April 9, 2021, the NRC published a notice of docketing and a request for comment for your petition in the Federal Register (86 FR 18477). The comment period closed on June 23, 2021. Your petition has been assigned Docket Number PRM-37-2.
Please reference this docket number on any correspondence you may have concerning the petition.
The NRC is reviewing your petition and the public comments received in response to the April 9, 2021, Federal Register notice. You will be notified once the NRC has made a determination on your petition.
