Dear Mr. Chairman:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is publishing the following document in the Federal Register:

Title:

Receipts-Based NRC Size Standards.

  • Description of the document: This final rule amends the NRCs small business size standards used to qualify an NRC licensee as a small entity. This change allows NRC standards to remain consistent with the inflation adjustments made by the Small Business Administration. Additionally, in accordance with the Small Business Runway Extension Act of 2018, the NRC is changing the averaging period used to calculate annual average receipts for small businesses that provide a service not related to manufacturing from 3 to 5 years.
  • Dates: The effective date of this rule is 30 days after publication.
  • This is not a major rule as defined by the Congressional Review Act.

For more information, see the enclosed document.

Please contact me at 301-415-1776 if you have questions or need more information.

Sincerely, Eugene Dacus, Director Office of Congressional Affairs
