1 2-Factor One-Time Password Authentication Using Google Authenticator with Box Quick Start Guide 2-Factor Authentication with One-Time Passwords is required for External Users to access NRC documents in Box.
One-Time Passwords are generated by the Google Authenticator Application on a mobile device.
The NRC recommends the use of the Google Authenticator Application for accessing NRC documents in Box.
External Users must use a mobile device to download and configure the Google Authenticator Application which will provide one-time passwords for login to the NRCs Box system.
Install Google Authenticator on an Android Device From an Android device, open the following link Install Google Authenticator for Android Select Install and follow the prompts to complete the installation
2 Install Google Authenticator on an iPhone or iPad Device From an iPhone or iPad device, open the following link Install Google Authenticator for iPhone or iPad Select Open Select Get and follow the prompts to complete the installation Configure Google Authenticator Using the Chrome Browser on a computer workstation device, navigate to Box at https://usnrc.box.com Select Not a part of Nuclear Regulatory Commission and login to Box
3 Navigate to the Folder or Document shared by NRC Staff Select Setup which displays the following Open the Google Authenticator application on your mobile device
4 If this is the first time using Google Authenticator, select the Plus + button in the lower right corner, otherwise proceed to the next step Select the Scan a QR code camera icon Point the mobile devices camera at the barcode displayed in the Chrome Browser so that it appears between the redlines on the mobile devices display
5 A 6-digit one-time password is displayed as follows Return to the Chrome Browser on a computer workstation device, enter the 6-digit code and select Submit
6 o The Folder or Document shared by NRC Staff is now accessible in the Chrome Browser
