Nuclear Regulatory Commission(NRC) hascomplied withtherequirement fromthe Social Security Number Fraud PreventionActof2017that within 5years agencies issue regulations designedto protect andlimit theuseofsocial security numbers(SSNs).

InAugust 2020,theNRCamended its regulations tospecify whenincluding anindividual complete SSNis necessary, maximize theuse ofpartially redacted SSNswherefeasible, require that SSNsnot bevisible ontheoutside ofany package sentbymail toorfromtheNRC,anddirect that documents sentbymail includethe SSN ofanindividual only whentheheadoftheagency determines that including theSSN is necessary.

Thesection belowlists thedocumentssent bymail that theNRCusedduring thepastyearand that included anindividual's complete

SSN, which wasnotvisible ontheoutside ofany package.
