OF SITE VISIT TO GLOBAL LASER ENRICHMENT, LLC.
TO SUPPORT THE ANNUAL INFORMATION SECURITY INSPECTION AND OBSERVATION OF THE AUTHORIZING OFFICIAL BY UPPER MANAGEMENT On July 19-21, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted a site visit to the Global Laser Enrichment, LLC. (GLE) test loop in Wilmington, NC. The NRC staff received an update on the status of the test loop, including a site tour, which was attended by NRCs Directors of the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response and Chief Information Officer. The NRC staff discussed the transition of the Authorizing Official responsibilities for the classified networks from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to the NRC. The staff also conducted the annual information security inspection, which will be documented separately in the Region II Inspection Report 07007033/I-2021-401.
