Washington, D.C. 20585

Dear Mr. Swartz:

Enclosed is export application XCOM1252/01, dated November 19, 2020. The current export license, XCOM1252, authorizes the export of fuel assemblies and related components, first to Sweden for assembly and manufacturing into complete fuel assemblies, and then to South Africa for ultimate use in the Koeberg Nuclear Power Plant (Units 1 and 2).

This purpose of the amendment is to: 1) add two additional Intermediate Consignees; 2) include nuclear reactor components and equipment as described in paragraphs (5) through (11) of Appendix A to 10 CFR Part 110; 3) update the list of the U.S. Parties to Export; 4) update the licensee point of contact; and 5) extend the date of expiration from December 31, 2020 to December 31, 2036.

Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances from EURATOM and South Africa will be appreciated.

Please note that the dollar amount on page 1 of the NRC Form 7 is proprietary information. The NRC will not include this information in the public record and requests that the Executive Branch agencies protect it as well.
