Holtec previously submitted a letter requesting clarification on the consideration of extreme environmental phenomena during short term operations (STO) within Part 72 jurisdiction [1].

We understand that the staff is working to schedule a public meeting to discuss NRCs position.

To facilitate discussion at that meeting, Holtec provides the attached position paper which explains our position on the issue.
