Subject:

Pre-Application Meeting Request for USA/9380/B(U)F-96 for Model No. Traveller STD and XL Packages

Dear Director,

Westinghouse intends to submit, by the end of July 2021, an amendment to the approved license USA/9380/B(U)F-96 for Model No. Traveller STD and XL packages. The amendment contents are in support of programs for accident tolerant fuel (ATF) designs and increasing fresh fuel assembly enrichment values for US customers.

To assist in preparation of the amendment application, Westinghouse requests a partially closed pre-application meeting. Westinghouse suggests holding this meeting on the afternoon of June 24, 2021. The proposed public agenda will include an overview of the amendment contents, summary of SAR changes, structural and criticality methods for ATF content and increased enrichment evaluations, review of the new Type B bottom support spacer drawing, and mechanical evaluation. The closed, non-public portion of the meeting will include additional details of evaluations and open discussion of methods.

Please confirm the pre-application meeting acceptance by email. One copy of this pre-application meeting request is submitted electronically via the NRC Electronic Information Exchange (EIE) system and emailed to NRC Project Manager, Pierre Saverot.
