VERIFICATION FOR GE-HITACHI LICENSING TOPICAL REPORT NEDC-33911P-A, REVISION 2, BWRX-300 CONTAINMENT PERFORMANCE Review Staff FYI, No further Staff effort or review is necessary we only need MGT approval and verification of the Corrected LTR -A, Revision 2.
GEH has re-submitted their -A version of the staff approved BWRX-300 LTR on Containment Performance. GEH had determined that five RAI questions and responses were left out of Appendix A of the -A, Revision 1, LTR. Therefore on April 27 GEH submitted -A, Revision 2, LTR with a corrected Appendix A. Nothing else has changed from -A, Revision 1, of the approved LTR.
I verified the changes in -A, Revision 2, Appendix A, GEH Responses to NRC RAIs on NEDC-33911P, Revision 0, that were outlined by GEH as follows:
- There were 5 eRAIs from GEH letter M200096 that were inadvertently excluded in NEDC-33911P-A Revision 1. In NEDC-33911P-A Revision 2, those 5 eRAIs were added back in to Appendix A.
More specifically, the following NRC questions were added back in from M200096:
eRAI 9760 (06.02.05-1 and 06.02.05-2) eRAI 9764 (06.02.01-1) eRAI 9765 (06.02.01-2) eRAI 9766 (06.02.01-3) eRAI 9767 (06.02.01-4)

The Staff had previously reviewed the submittal in detail and verified it in accordance with LIC 500, Revision 8, Topical Review Process, Step 2.7.3, that the submitted -A version did not technically change from the basis used by the staff in its Final Safety Evaluation Report (FSER).
Therefore in accordance with Step 2.7.4 of LIC 500, I have prepared a new verification letter for Revision 2 (attached) with Form 896 that the -A, Revision 2, of the LTR is approved for referencing in future licensing applications for the BWRX-300 to the extent specified and under the limitations delineated in the staff FSER.
Following the issuance of the verification letter on following your LTR Verification all actions toward the TR review are complete and this GEH LTR review will be closed.
I am requesting that Brian and Mike provide Verification approval on or before May 28, 2012.
