Notification of Cessation of Power Operations at IP3 Date: Tuesday, May 18, 2021 7:49:00 AM Attachments: 2021-05-11_Entergy Certification of Permanent Cessation of IP3 Operations.pdf

Julie, The NRC has received Entergys certification of permanent cessation of power operations and permanent removal of fuel from the reactor vessel of Indian Point Nuclear Generating Unit 3 (IP3). IP3 ceased operations on April 30, 2021, and Entergy permanently removed the fuel from the reactor vessel and placed it in the IP3 spent fuel pool on May 11, 2021. As of the NRCs receipt and docketing of these certifications, IP3s NRC license no longer authorizes operation of the reactor or emplacement or retention of fuel in the reactor vessel.

In accordance with term and condition (T&C) 2 of the NMFSs revised incidental take statement issued on February 9, 2018, and amended by letter dated October 5, 2020, the NRC is hereby notifying you of this certification. A copy of Entergys notification is attached.
