SUMMARY
OF JUNE 3, 2021, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION CHANGES TO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS TASK FORCE (TSTF)-505 TO INCORPORATE REGULATORY GUIDE (RG) 1.200, REVISION 3 On June 3, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a public teleconference1 with representatives from the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and the Technical Specifications Task Force (TSTF). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the TSTFs views2 on proposed alternative Technical Specification (TS) language that future licensees may use in modifying the risk-informed technical specification program to incorporate portions of Revision 3 of Regulatory Guide 1.2003.
At the start of the meeting, it was noted that TSTF-579-T was the designation for the TSTF T-Traveler that provides an alternative to the Administrative TS in TSTF-5054. As indicated in the NRC staff slides,5 and reinforced during the discussion, staff noted that their comments on TSTF-579-T do not constitute a pre-approval of that TSTF T traveler. Staff noted that Revision 3 to RG 1.200 provides formal staff positions and that the license amendment review process will be used to review plant-specific alternative technical specification language.
At the start of the meeting, TSTF informed the staff that while it is working to develop the TSTF T-traveler T-579, it is also considering an option to submit their proposal for NRC review as a TSTF traveler.
During the remainder of the meeting staff and TSTF discussed the staffs comments on the TSTF T-traveler. These included issues such as inclusion of internal events under the approaches, and the need for changes to enhance clarity.

M. Markley During a discussion on the logistics of managing the comments between industry and the NRC, staff indicated that they intend to consider the views expressed by TSTF while preparing their revised comments.
No decisions were reached, or positions established in these areas. Following the discussion, an opportunity was afforded to any other participants who wished to ask questions or make comments. No questions or comments were received from the public.
