OF MAY 10, 2021, PUBLIC MEETING WITH ENTERGY OPERATIONS, INC. TO DISCUSS UPCOMING RELIEF REQUEST TO ADOPT PERFORMANCE-BASED TESTING FOR PRESSURE ISOLATION VALVES FOR GRAND GULF NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 1 On May 10, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held an Observation public meeting between the NRC staff and Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy, the licensee) via teleconference. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the licensees upcoming relief request regarding the adoption of performance-based testing for pressure isolation valves for Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (Grand Gulf). The meeting notice and agenda, dated April 22, 2021, are available in NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML21112A188. A list of attendees is provided in the enclosure.
The licensee provided slides for this public meeting, which are available in ADAMS at Accession No. ML21126A303. The primary basis for the licensees proposed relief request is the historic test performance of most of the pressure isolation valves. Entergy is planning to submit this Grand Gulf relief request by May 31, 2021.
No members of the public called into the meeting. No regulatory decisions or commitments were made at the meeting. No Public Meeting Feedback forms were received.
