Dear Ms. Ferkile:
Enclosed is an application (XSNM3821), dated April 20, 2021, received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), from ALARA Logistics LLC. The application requests the export of 200 kilograms of uranium enriched up to 19.95 WGT% in uranium-235 (up to 39.9 kg U-235) in the form of unalloyed broken metal to Indonesia. The material will be fabricated into fuel targets and then used in the G.A. Siwabessy Research Reactor as fuel and for medical isotope production.
Assurances from Indonesia that the material will be subject to the terms of the U.S.-Indonesia Agreement for Cooperation are required. Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.
