On April 21, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff sent Entergy Operations, Inc.
(Entergy) the draft supplemental Request for Additional Information (RAI) identified below via the NRC Box Enterprise File Synchronization and Sharing System (Box-EFSS), a secure mechanism to share sensitive files with external parties. This proprietary (nonpublic) RAI relates to Entergys request for an alternative to allow the use of a carbon fiber reinforced polymer composite system for the internal repair of the emergency cooling pond supply piping to the service water system at Arkansas Nuclear One, Units 1 and 2 (ANO-1 and ANO-2).
Entergy subsequently informed the NRC staff that the information requested by the NRC staff was understood and that no additional clarification of the RAI was necessary. On April 26, 2021, a nonpublic version of this final RAI (with draft removed) was sent to the licensee via the NRC Box-EFSS. A nonpublic copy will also be placed in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). As agreed, please provide a response to this RAI within 30 days of the date of this correspondence.

By letter dated July 15, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. ML20218A672), Entergy Operations, Inc. (the licensee) requested approval to allow the use of a carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite system for the internal repair of the emergency cooling pond (ECP) supply piping to the service water system at Arkansas Nuclear One (ANO)
Units 1 and 2. By letter dated January 22, 2021 (ADAMS Accession No. ML21022A084), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff issued a request for additional information (RAI). The licensee provided responses to the RAI by letter dated February 22, 2021 (ADAMS Package Accession No. ML21063A242). To complete its review, the NRC staff requests additional supplemental information to EMIB-RAI-10.
On April 21, 2021, the NRC staff transmitted a draft proprietary (non-public) supplemental RAI to the licensee via the NRC Box Enterprise File Synchronization and Sharing System (Box-EFSS), a secure mechanism to share files with external parties. This supplemental RAI is identified as draft at this time to confirm your understanding of the information that the NRC staff needs to complete the evaluation. If the request for information is understood, please respond to this RAI within 30 days of the date of this request.
