The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is publishing the following document in the Federal Register:

Title:

Final Rule: Fitness for Duty Drug Testing Requirements.

  • Description of the document: This rule amends the NRC regulations regarding fitness for duty programs for certain NRC licensees and other entities to align the NRCs drug testing requirements more closely with the updates made to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Mandatory Guidelines for Federal Workplace Drug Testing Programs in 2008 and as revised in 2017.
  • Dates: The effective date of this rule is 30 days after the date of publication. Licensees will have 1 year after the date of publication to comply with this rule.
  • This is not a major rule as defined by the Congressional Review Act.
