OF MARCH 30, 2021, PARTIALLY CLOSED MEETING WITH WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC COMPANY TO DISCUSS WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC COMPANY CURRENT DEVELOPMENT AND LICENSING PLANS FOR THE ACCIDENT TOLERANT FUEL CHROMIUM COATED CLADDING TECHNOLOGY (EPID L-2021-LRO-0013)

On March 30, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a partially closed teleconference meeting via Microsoft Teams with representatives from Westinghouse Electric Company (Westinghouse). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Westinghouse current development and licensing plans for the accident tolerant fuel (ATF) chromium coated cladding technology. The meeting was noticed on March 11, 2021, and is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML21084A780.

During the open session of the meeting Westinghouse provided an overview of Westinghouse EnCore ATF program including advanced cladding and advanced fuel and ATF initiatives.

There were no questions from members of the public during the open session. During the closed session of the meeting, Westinghouse presented proprietary information related to the EnCore ATF program, current status of the chromium coated cladding development, performance testing, ongoing work and next steps, and addressed the NRC staffs questions regarding these topics.
