March 25, 2021 Mr. David Lochbaum C-10 Advisory Board Member Gender + Radiation Impact Project Board Member

Dear Mr. Lochabum:

Thank you for presenting at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) 33rd Regulatory Information Conference (RIC), held March 8-11, 2021; NRCs first-ever virtual RIC!

In keeping with the theme, The Power of Possibility, we leveraged the use of virtual conference technology for attendee participation in the 2021 RIC. Initial feedback indicates that we were successful at digitally recreating the conference experience, while sustaining our primary goal of providing all attendees with important and relevant information specific to the NRCs safety and security mission. The 2021 virtual RIC was the largest RIC ever with over 4,000 people registered from 50 countries!

As a panelist during my technical session, Technical Session M1: How Far Weve Come -

NRCs Transformation Journey, your presentation entitled, Access to Information was both interesting and informative. Further, your perspective on the topic helped to stimulate a thought-provoking dialogue during the Q&A session. I greatly appreciate your participation as a speaker and sharing your personal views on how access to the NRCs information is beneficial to the public in understanding and interacting with the NRC.

There were so many insightful sessions at the RIC making it difficult to choose which ones to watch in real time! But, not to worry because all sessions were recorded and those recordings along with transcripts will be made available on the NRCs public RIC web site by the end of March. Right now, you can view the Commissioners and EDO plenaries (and some other sessions) at https://video.nrc.gov/. In addition, you can view our technical session and others, on the NRCs YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5z8dJH-7TQ.

We hope you enjoyed the 2021 virtual RIC and ask that you share your experience and insights so that we can continue to enhance future RIC programs. We welcome your feedback, thank you for your participation, and we hope you will join us next year for the NRCs 34th RIC, scheduled for March 8-10, 2022.

Sincerely, Catherine Haney Assistant for Operations Session Coordinator - Technical Session M1
