Preparing for Success Reality: Organizations and personnel that lead development of risk-informed initiatives are rarely the organizations and personnel that implement these initiatives long-term Impacts: Implementation issues arise absent proactive, deliberative approach to cross-organizational cooperation Remedy: Communicate pro-actively (early and often) with all involved organizations and deliberately foster cross-organization collaboration throughout the development process Example: TSTF-425 implementation issues with 50.59 inspections

Best Practices All affected organizations participate in development of program, even prior to licensing process

  • Industry: Operations and Engineering organizations
  • NRC: Regions, Resident Inspectors Review impacts of program via tabletop exercises, as practical Clear, written communication on program expectations and impacts to ensure complete organizational understanding, e.g.;
  • Procedures
  • Training
