The Wisconsin State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) thanks you for the opportunity to comment on the proposed relicensing for Point Beach Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2, Manitowoc County, WI. The WI SHPO formally accepts the invitation to begin official relicensing consultations. As you recall from our previous conversations, and with my conversations with NextEra Energy, it is our opinion that we should conduct an architectural / structural survey of Units 1 and 2, including all ancillary buildings and structures, that may now fall within the 50-year threshold for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). In relation to this architectural survey, through my constructive conversations with Dr. Richard Estabrook and NextEra Energy, we should also consider updating the NextEra Energy equivalent Historic Properties Management Plan (HPMP) as part of the relicensing process. During these conversations with NextEra and Dr. Estabrook we determined that as the existing document /

plan does not include architectural cultural resources, an updated is warranted.
