DUANE ARNOLD ENERGY CENTER - EXEMPTION FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF 10 CFR 50.54(w)(1) CONCERNING ONSITE PROPERTY DAMAGE INSURANCE (EPID L-2020-LLE-0114)
Dear Mr. Moul:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved the enclosed exemption from the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Section 50.54(w)(1) concerning onsite property damage insurance for NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC.
This action is in response to the application dated July 16, 2020, requesting an exemption to reduce the minimum coverage limit from $1.06 billion to $50 million for the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC). The exemption is effective as of 10 months after permanent cessation of power operations for DAEC, which is June 10, 2021.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
