VERIFICATION LETTER OF THE APPROVAL VERSION OF KAIROS POWER LLC TOPICAL REPORT KP-TR-006-P, SCALING METHODOLOGY FOR THE KAIROS POWER TESTING PROGRAM (REVISION 1) (CAC NO. 000431)
Dear Mr. Hastings:
By letter dated July 17, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21013A430), Kairos Power LLC (Kairos) submitted an approval
(-A) version of Topical Report (TR) KP-TR-006-P, Scaling Methodology for the Kairos Power Testing Program (Revision 1), to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff. Kairos has done so in accordance with our transmittal letter dated June 19, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20141L527), of the NRC staffs final safety evaluation for the TR.
The NRC staff has completed its review of the approval version of the TR. The NRC staff verified that Kairos has met the requirements and determined that the submitted -A version is acceptable for referencing in licensing applications for nuclear power plants to the extent specified and under the limitations delineated in the accepted version of the TR. The TR KP-TR-006-P-A, Scaling Methodology for the Kairos Power Testing Program (Revision 1), is now approved for use in future licensing actions.
