Written communication as specified by University of Missouri Research Reactor Technical Specification 6.6.d(2) regarding a permanent change in the facility organization involving the Office of the Chancellor By letter dated August 4, 2020 (ML20217L555), the University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) notified the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission of a special meeting held by The Curators of the University of Missouri ("Licensee" or "Board") on July 28, 2020, to discuss key issues regarding the organizational structure of the University of Missouri System. As a result of this action, the Board established a Council, consisting of the Chancellors of the other three University of Missouri campuses and chaired by the President, to explore and report its findings in response to several factors including the defined roles of the President and Chancellors. Also stated in the letter was that Dr. Mun Y. Choi had been serving as Interim Chancellor of the University of Missouri-Columbia (Level 1) since March 2020 .

On February 9, 2021, the final organizational chart for the University of Missouri-Columbia Office of the Chancellor was released and lists Dr. Choi as both permanent Chancellor of the University of Missouri-Columbia and President of the University of Missouri System. Since both positions are still separately defined, and the responsibilities have not merged, no changes to the MURR Technical Specifications are required.
