UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL January 27, 2021 Mr. Russell Vought, Director Office of Management and Budget 725 17th Street, NW Washington, DC 20503

Dear Mr. Vought:

In accordance with Public Law 112-194, Government Charge Card Abuse Prevention Act of 2012 and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) M-13-21, Inspectors General are required to report to the Director of OMB the agencys progress in implementing audit recommendations related to government charge cards.

In fiscal year (FY) 2017, NRCs Office of the Inspector General (OIG) issued a purchase charge card related audit report with one audit finding and seven audit recommendations. All recommendations are closed. In FY 2013, the NRC OIG issued a travel card audit report with two audit findings and twelve audit recommendations. All recommendations are closed.

Based on an OIG audit risk assessment, we did not include any charge card related program audits in our FY 2021 NRC Annual Plan. The NRC OIG has investigations staff assigned to an NRC Working Group that reviews instances of possible travel charge card misuse and continues to maintain a proactive working relationship with agency offices in an effort to identify potential fraud, waste, and abuse of NRC charge card programs.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Brett M. Baker, Assistant Inspector General for Audit, at (301) 415-5915, or me, at (301) 415-5930.

Sincerely, Digitally signed by Robert J.
