OF JANUARY 26, 2021, PUBLIC MEETING WITH NUCLEAR ENERGY INSTITUTE TO DISCUSS THE INCLUSION OF TSTF-425 UNDER THE RISK-INFORMED PROCESS FOR EVALUATIONS INITIATIVE (EPID L-2019-LRO-0074)
On January 26, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a Category 2 public meeting between NRC staff and Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) via teleconference. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the inclusion of Technical Specifications Task Force (TSTF) Improved Standard Technical Specifications Change Traveler TSTF-425, Revision 3, Relocate Surveillance Frequencies to Licensee Control - RITSTF [Risk-informed TSTF]
Initiative 5b, under the recently NRC-issued Risk-Informed Process for Evaluations (RIPE)
(Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. Ml20261H475) initiative. The meeting notice and agenda, dated January 11, 2021, are available in ADAMS under Accession No. ML21011A153. A list of attendees is provided in the enclosure.
NEI provided slides for this public meeting, which are available in ADAMS under Accession No. ML21025A003. The NRC presentation slides are also available under ADAMS Accession No. ML21025A004. The NRC proposed that NEI consider taking ownership of future revisions of the RIPE guidance to enable more efficient revision to the guidance and help to mitigate process challenges such as presented by Office of Management and Budget review.
No members of the public called into the meeting. No regulatory decisions or commitments were made at the meeting.
