VERIFICATION LETTER OF THE APPROVAL VERSION OF X-ENERGY, LLC XEQAPD-NP-A, QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM DESCRIPTION REVISION 3
Dear Dr. Van Staden:
By letter dated December 4, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20343A088), X-Energy, LLC (X-Energy) submitted an approval version (-A) of the XEQAPD Revision 3-NP-A, Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) for Design Certification of the Xe-100 Reactor, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff. X-Energy has done so in accordance with our letter dated September 4, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20233A910), transmitting the NRC staffs confirmation of Revision 3-NP-A as the acceptable version.
The NRC staff has completed its review of the -A version of the topical report. The NRC staff verified that X-Energy has met the requirements and determined that the submitted
-A version is acceptable for referencing in licensing applications for nuclear power plants to the extent specified and under the limitations delineated in the accepted version of the topical report. The -A version, XEQAPD Revision 3-NP-A, Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) for Design Certification of the Xe-100 Reactor, is now approved for use in future licensing actions.
